Conflict Mindfulness Retreat

Conflict Mindfulness Retreat

Retreat Circle

Conflict resolution is not just a skill; it is a state of mind. We combine the theories from conflict resolution, Buddhism and Psychology to offer a more holistic approach to helping you manage inner turmoil and improve your reaction to conflict.

The retreat is for those who would like to:

  • Delve inside to find the meaning and purpose to the internal conflict that you may be experiencing

  • Understand more about Buddhism and what it means to be enlightened

  • Understand more about your role in conflict and how to better resolve it

  • Understand more about Mindfulness

  • Understand more about conflict coaching strategies and tools

  • Gain professional development points and a tax deductable holiday

Often as a professional, we are very adept at managing conflict at work, with our colleagues or our clients. Often, its not easy to practice what we preach at home, and we struggle just as much as our clients. Improving ourselves is a life long journey, it needs a holistic approach, we need conflict resolution skills, we need to understand psychological theories and techniques and more importantly, we need to change our way of life.

This workshop is designed for professionals that are looking for a way to integrate a holiday with professional and personal development and network with like minded colleagues. The facilitators backgrounds are in Buddhism, Psychology, Mediation and Hypnotherapy and we aim to fuse these approaches to deliver a unique self development opportunity.

Jorg ThonnissenWhat is the true purpose of conflict? - Jorg Thonnissen

A Buddhist Model of Conflict Resolution

We know conflict can exist as a state of opposition between persons or ideas or interests. But what about the internal kind of conflict that we are experiencing almost every day within ourselves?
The practice of Nichiren Buddhism explains the true purpose of conflict, and how to deal with it effectively to get better outcomes. Being aware of the true nature of all phenomena as identified by the concept of ichinen- sanzen and expressed in the Buddhist chant Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo is the key to maintaining effective mindfulness. . - Jorg Thonnissen (Jorg's website)

Heidi SmithWhat is the aim of the retreat? - Heidi Smith

The aim of the retreat is to find the true purpose of conflict in our lives, to discover the repeating patterns and resolve them. Ultimately this is a journey of self discovery, its the conflict in our life, the distinction that shapes our existence, who we are and who we can become.
